The Hidden Canyon Guwang is located at the village of Guwang Sukawati, in the Beji River flow path close to the Guwang market. If you visit Sukawati Art Market, the hidden canyon Beji Guwang is very close, it only takes 10 minutes drive to get there. The canyon is approximately 14 km from Denpasar, or about a 1-hour motorbike ride or 1.5 hours by car.

From the entrance to the Hidden Canyon, you can see concrete staircase built neatly.

The visitors will trek along the river for about 700 meters, passing through large and slippery river stones and even occasionally having to climb large rocks. According to the local elders, these rocks are remnants of the rocks from the eruption of Mount Agung centuries ago. Every now and then you have to let your feet get wet by crossing the river. In case the travelers are unable to continue and wants to end the trekking, they can simply talk to the local guide and he will take you to the nearest short-trek.

At the end of the trek you will find a temple with fresh holy water (springs). You can use it to rinse after the tiring trekking.
This water shower drains water directly from a spring.

Some important tips when visiting Beji Guwang Canyon:

  1. Come during the dry season because at that time, the river flow is not too heavy so it is safe and easy to pass.
  2. Wear comfortable clothes and footwear because you will be walking along the Guwang River which is full of slippery stones.
  3. For safety and smooth travel, it is a great idea to use the services of a local guide.
  4. Visitors should not bring small children under the age of 7 year old considering the condition of the terrain.
